Got a pool or a pond you need to empy out? This light duty submersible sump pump can move water quickly and efficiently at a rate of about 35pm. The ideal use for this submersible pump is for pumping rainwater, fresh water, dirty water, and chlorinated water from swimming pools, ponds, and waterfalls. It can be submerged to a maximum depth of about 16 feet and deliver water a maximum of 23 feet above the pump base. It runs off a normal 115V extension cord and draws about 7 amps of electricity when in use. It has a float on it that will shut the pump off automatially at 4.7 inches of water (if you need to draw the level lower you will have to old the float while finishing up). While the pump is not designed for heave slurry applications, it does have the ability to move an occasional obstruction up to 1/2 inch in diameter. Please note that the pump will be fully functional like the pump in the pictures, but it is not nearly as pretty any more.
Please take note of a these precautions. When emtying an underground swimming pool be aware of the water table and its hydrostatic pressure behind your pool wall. Emptying an underground pool can lead to your pool wall being compromised if it is overcome by hydrostatic pressure behind the wall. Also be aware that this is a light duty pump. It is not a trash pump and not suited for extreme environments like crop irrigation, sewer pumpouts, or other similar slurry water situations.
